A Nigerian entrepreneur, Luciana Ojeniyi, has launched Luciana Womenswea, an outfit she described as Nigeria’s first AI-powered Virtual Try-On experiene to solve one of online shopping’s most persistent problems which is the uncertainty of buying an outfit that has never been tried on.
Luciana Womenswea, according to her, is a tool which lets customers upload a photo and see, within moments, how a chosen outfit might look on them before they commit to buying it.
Ojeniyi said the appeal of the technology has to do with removing hesitation from the buying process, saying the goal is to give women more certainty when making decisions.
Speaking recently on the tool, she said the idea grew out of a common pattern she observed among online shoppers where many women abandon their carts simply because they can’t picture how a garment will actually look on their bodies. She said customers can now access the feature from eligible product pages, upload a photo from a phone or computer, and receive a visualization of the outfit in just a few moments, with no separate application required.
Ojeniyi says she wanted Nigerian consumers to have access to the same caliber of shopping experience available on major international fashion platforms, describing local customers as sophisticated and deserving of equal innovation.
Luciana Womenswear centers on confidence, authenticity and personal expression a theme reflected both in the design of the Radiance Collection’s dresses and separates, and in the digital shopping experience itself.
Ojeniyi says the mission in for fashion not to just change how women look but should remind them of who they already are.
