No fewer than 2, 500 unemployed graduates were, on Thursday, trained in six centres across the three senatorial zones of Anambra State, on Google digital skills.
The theme of the training is: “Diversifying the Nigeria economy: Enabling Youths through Digital Skills Training.”
The training was organised by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs) in partnership with Google network and Anambra State government.
SSA to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire explained that the training is part of the process aimed at achieving the United Nations goal of improving the general living condition of the people across the world.
Adejoke, who was represented by Mrs Uwakwe Justina emphasised that the digital training was aimed at empowering the youths and creating enabling environment for self-employment and wealth creation.
Declaring the event open at UNN Business School, Awka, venue of the training, Governor Willie Obiano, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, reiterated the commitment of his administration in addressing youth unemployment in the state.
“The essence of this training is to prepare you on the use of digital technology and to see the possibility of securing jobs and opportunities” he said.
