Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo has commended the NNPC Limited/TotalEnergies Joint Venture for achieving zero routine gas flare in all its Nigerian assets.

Ekpo, in a statement by his spokesman, Louis Ibah, described the achievement as a testament to the collective commitment of the government, operators and other stakeholders to environmental stewardship and sustainable development in the energy sector.

According to the Gas Minister, TotalEnergies achievement of zero-routine gas flaring in all exploration and production operations in Nigeria, especially at OML 100, aligned with the Federal Government’s policy on gas as a pivotal transition fuel even as it showcases the synergy between the government and private entities like TotalEnergies in paving the way for sustainable energy future.

Said Ekpo: “I commend TotalEnergies for leading by example, demonstrating that with commitment, innovation, and collaboration, we can achieve our environmental goals while boosting socio-economic development. Let this success at OML 100 serve as an inspiration for other companies within Nigeria and globally to adopt sustainable practices in energy production.”
