Activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has shared that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not received any petition against Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.
Daily Sun reported that the EFCC revealed why VeryDarkMan was arrested on Monday, saying it was due to multiple petitions against him.
In a counterstatement, Adeyanju, who visited the popular social media personality on Monday evening, disclosed that when probed, the commission said it has no petition against VeryDarkMan.
Adeyanju stated that the anti-graft agency is still unable to say why VeryDarkMan was apprehended.
“Got into the country this evening and went straight to VDM at EFCC.
“Just left him. We still cannot understand why he was arrested. EFCC said there’s no petition against him after our repeated demand,” he said in a Facebook post.
