Dean Kelechi Nwokocha better known by his stage name DeanKelly, is an American -Nigerian singer-songwriter based in Houston. His artistically imaginative, creative, and versatile musical style is influenced by the seductive use of vibrant soundscapes from his homeland.
In a probable coincidence, an interview with the self-taught music artist (as he claimed), he revealed that he would rule the world with his emotional songs, “In a few years, I intend to break boundaries in music and take my genre internationally and beyond.
Talking about music, it goes without saying that it isDeanKelly’s other love interest. “I became passionate about music the day I saw someone cry after listening to a song, I was surprised as to how can words and melodies do that. I want my music to be able to do that, to touch people in ways that make them feel connected to me, my voice, and my melody. I’ve always loved music growing up so I’m grateful to my creator for giving me this gift of creating music. DeanKelly’s tasted commercial success after releasing his “Sexy Didi” single in 2016. The spicy banger earned him a spot on the Seyi Law’s Fast and Funny show and made it into the Nigeria festival.
As expected, his sustained efforts in his career earned him mainstream recognition and awareness within a short time. In the same bid, he went ahead to releasehis hit EP ‘The MissTape’ in 2018. This self- produced/self-written project sees the singer, songwriter and producer expressing his unflappable appreciation for a love interest, with tracks ‘Parole’, Monalisa’ and ‘Wasteman’ supplying a seamlessly slick flow of Afrobeat, inspired by his Nigerian heritage. ‘Senorita’ and lead single, ‘Ogogoro’ inject boldness to the ambient trademark, where DeanKelly’s calm-and-collected vocal adding that spine tingling sensation.
2021 to be that marked unique year for DeanKelly as he has strikingly “busted” the minds of his fans with his single ‘Belema’. Moving forward,he dropped an easy-listening song ‘2 seconds’ in the same year. This single rocked with massive airplay topped charts and raked in almost a million plays. Not resting on his oars, in August 2021, released another top-notch hit single again; ‘Ginika’ which is currently enjoying massive airplay in different parts especially in Nigeria and the US.
