National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has welcomed the Federal High Court judgment affirming his leadership of the party, describing the decision as a victory for democracy, justice and the rule of law.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, Mark said the ruling goes beyond resolving the party’s leadership dispute, insisting it reinforces the constitutional principles that underpin Nigeria’s democratic system.

“This is not just a victory for our party; it is a victory for democracy, justice and every Nigerian who believes in a vibrant political system where ideas compete freely and the will of the people ultimately prevails,” he said.

According to the former Senate President, the judgment validates the ADC’s commitment to multi-party democracy, constitutional governance and the rights of citizens to freely associate and participate in the country’s political process.

Mark maintained that democracy can only flourish when political parties are allowed to operate without intimidation or undue interference, adding that the court’s decision reaffirmed the judiciary’s role as the guardian of Nigeria’s constitutional order.

“Today’s judgment has reaffirmed that no individual or institution is above the law and that the judiciary remains the ultimate guardian of our constitutional order,” he stated.

He also commended the judiciary for what he described as its courage, impartiality and dedication to justice, saying the verdict strengthens public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

Reaffirming the ADC’s commitment to democratic values, Mark said the party would continue to provide constructive opposition and purposeful leadership in the nation’s political landscape.

He further called on party members, supporters and Nigerians to remain united and continue pursuing a more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous country through democratic engagement.
