There are lives, and then there are legacies. For Chief Olusegun Adebayo Alalade, who turned 70 on Saturday July 5, his life represents a journey of undeniably enduring legacies. For many, it is just another milestone. But for those who have followed the extraordinary life of the Ada, Osun State-born legal luminary, chartered accountant and agripreneur, it is far more than a birthday celebration.

For the Bobagunwa and Chairman of Adaland Community Development Association, fondly called OAA, he would not admit being a socialite and a phenomenon. Testimonies among family members, friends and associates underscore his measure of humility, modesty and brilliance. He does not offer much of glitz, flamboyance and glamour but what is incontestable is that he is blessed with uncommon business acumen, discipline and unparalleled audacity.

Nevertheless, as the business mogul joined the septuagenarian club, his immediate family and close friends led by his adorable wife —Olori Olayide Alalade— threw a lavish bash to celebrate God’s faithfulness in his life at the 10 Degrees Event Centre in Oregun, Lagos. For those who have followed the Bobagunwa, the 70th birthday shindig was a special thanksgiving and ultra-banquet dedicated to the rigorous pursuit of hard work, passion and grit steeped in integrity, intelligence and academic brilliance.

Alalade’s quest for knowledge is not only impressive but inspiring. Interestingly, as he seeks knowledge across many disciplines, he also loves to share it. The world has changed but the Alalade family is still living its history —faithful to its unchanging principles in business, wealth creation and philanthropy.
