In a bold move to elevate awareness about the menace of human papilloma virus infection, which can ultimately lead to cervical cancer, BellaNaija has launched “Ajo Circle,” a compelling radio drama created by media personality Temilola “TaymiB” Balogun, the producer behind the hit series Skinny Girl in Transit.

The drama marks a significant expansion of the #StopHPVforHer campaign, which aims to reach women where they are in everyday conversations.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Lagos’s markets, Ajo Circle narrates the story of women in a thrift-savings group whose lively discussions unexpectedly become a platform for vital health education.

Blending Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, and English, the drama features a star-studded cast including Omotunde Adebowale-David, Eyinju Oluwa, Opeoluwa Keshinro, Makida Moka-Onyekweli, and Oli Ekun, who deliver humour, emotion, and crucial information about HPV and its link to cervical cancer.

A BellaNaija spokesperson emphasized the importance of this initiative: “With Ajo Circle, we’re taking health education beyond clinics and campaigns, into the everyday conversations women have. We want every woman, from market stalls to corporate offices, to feel empowered with the knowledge that could save her life.”

Launched on October 1, 2025, the #StopHPVforHer campaign has already mobilized medical experts, advocates, and survivors to promote awareness, vaccination, and early screening across Nigeria.

The release of Ajo Circle arrives at a critical juncture, coinciding with the Federal Government’s nationwide HPV vaccination rollout covering all 36 states and the FCT.
