President Bola Tinubu has questioned Peter Obi’s record on erosion control in Anambra State, challenging the former governor’s ambition to become Nigeria’s president.

Tinubu made the remarks on Friday during an event in Akwa Ibom State, where he referred to a resort project and criticised attempts to compare his intellectual capacity with that of Obi.

The President questioned the comparison, saying: “They compared the brain of this man to that of Obi.”

He then accused Obi of failing to address erosion challenges in Anambra State, declaring: “He ran away from Erosion. He ran away from Erosion in Anambra.”

Tinubu subsequently questioned Obi’s suitability for the presidency, asking: “And he now wants to be president? President of where?”

The President also made a remark about the resort, saying: “Here we are on a resort claimed from Erosion. And we are going to enjoy the life?”

His comments placed Obi’s record as Anambra governor at the centre of his criticism, particularly his administration’s response to erosion challenges in the state.
