After 20 years operating as a caterer, Lagos socialite Tiwatope Oluwafunke Ogunde has ventured into luxury fashion business.
Ogunde’s new luxury fashion store, Sisi Alaso Asiko, her first walk-in outlet in Lagos, was declared open on Sunday, November 1, at Omole Phase 1, Ikeja, in the presence of family members, friends and well-wishers who were treated to a tour and private showcase of her fashion collections. The guests also had the opportunity to explore an array of premium fashion fabrics and accessories for men and women.
Sisi Alaso Asiko features an international collection of fashion pieces designed to appeal to customers with contemporary and eclectic tastes.
According to Ogunde, the decision to establish the fashion business came through divine inspiration, following two decades of successfully running a catering business.
“Anybody that knows me knows that I’ve been a caterer for 20 years. Then the Lord woke me up and said we are going to put a covering over people,” she said.
The fashion entrepreneur disclosed that although, her late mother operated a fabric business, she had never considered venturing into fashion herself.

“It was my mom’s business. It wasn’t my business. I’m a caterer. This whole thing started less than three months ago as an inspiration from God, and see how far He has brought us,” she enthused.
With the theme: ‘Commit Your Works to the Lord,’ the event featured a spiritual exhortation and prayers, emphasising the importance of faith, gratitude and divine guidance in business.
In his sermon, Apostle Dele Johnson commended Ogunde for her courage in establishing the business, and appreciated guests for honouring the invitation. He urged entrepreneurs to commit their businesses to God, describing every endeavour as a calling that requires divine guidance to flourish.
“Any work you are doing is a calling. Whatever you are wired or talented to do is your call. Your passion is your call. Even your pain can become your call. So, you have to commit it to God if you want it to succeed. Nothing dies in God’s hands because He is the resurrection and the life,” he said.
Johnson subsequently offered prayers for Ogunde, the business and its staff, while encouraging employees to uphold integrity and faithfulness in supporting the proprietor towards achieving the brand’s vision.
