Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State, Mr Tolani Alausa, has charged officers and personnel to be hard on the hoodlums terrorising the state. He said: “20 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and child traffickers were arrested and some dangerous weapons recovered.

“We are determined to checkmate criminals including armed robbers, kidnappers and child traffickers. They are from other states. The state will be too hot for hoodlums to operate. We raided their hideouts and recovered dangerous weapons from them.

“Police operatives arrested 10 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers terrorising Yenagoa and other communities. We recovered pump action gun, AK47 rifle and magazine. We also arrested suspected cult members of Greenlander and Eiye Confraternity. They were involved in housing breaking.

“The command reunites two children with their family. They were stolen by a suspected trafficker from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He brought them to Yenagoa. They were found at Tombia-Etegwe Roundabout roaming aimlessly. A community leader took them to Akenfa Police Division and we handed them to their parents.

“Operatives busted a child trafficking syndicate and rescued two stolen children in Enugu and Abia states. They recovered the stolen child at Igbo-gene Yenagoa.”
