National Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Yusuf Dantalle, has emerged as the National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
While announcing the results yesterday in Abuja, Chairman, Electoral Committee, and Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dan Nwanyanwu, said Dantalle scored 10 votes, defeating his closet contestant, Yabaji Sani of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) who scored 8 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Dantalle promised to register IPAC with the Corporate Affairs Commission and to build Secretariat for women.
He added that part of his vision would be “to establish IPAC as a robust and dynamic platform that fosters collaboration among political parties, arms and tiers of government, civil society organizations, development partners and stakeholders for the betterment of the democratic process and deepening democracy in Nigeria.
“To promote inclusivity, transparency, and accountability in the decision-making processes of IPAC. Mission Statement:
“To serve as a unifying force for political parties, promoting dialogue and cooperation on issues of national interest.
“To provide a forum for constructive engagement, idea-sharing, and consensus-building among diverse political ideologies,” he said.
According to him, part of his objectives is to “facilitate regular and meaningful dialogue among political parties to address common challenges and promote national development.
“Develop and implement programs to enhance the capacity of political parties in areas such as governance, policy formulation, and grassroots mobilization.
“Advocate for electoral reforms that promote a level playing field and enhance the integrity of the electoral process.”
Meanwhile, Sani conceded defeated, stating that it was the beautiful of democracy.
