A cleric and President of Care People Foundation, Rev. Paul Tioluwani – Lesekese has called on well -to- do Nigerians to come to the aid of  the People With Disability, (PWDs), motherless children, orphans and widows, as the country is currently witnessing a harsh economy.

Tioluwani – Lesekese made this admonition while speaking at this year’s edition of Care People Foundation’s carnival for physically challenged, orphans, widows and the less privileged people at Ibadan.

He said: “To get beans, you have to plant beans. The same with maize; you have to plant maize to get maize. To get mercy, you need to sow mercy. So anyone believing God for merciful intervention in any aspects of life must sow mercy to the needy.”

Also speaking in the same vein, the Chairman of the carnival and founder/ Chairman of Ibadan Central Hospital, Dr Abib Olamitoye said the carnival organised for the less privileged people by the Care People Foundation is to sell the idea of benevolence, kindness and generosity.

He said: “A lot of us are where we are today because at one stage or the other we got helpers. We can’t be where we are today, without the help of other people. The helpers are Angels of God. In our own individual lives, we can choose to become one of such helpers, especially at this time when the support and protection of these children, orphans and motherless children are most necessary.

“I invite Nigerians, especially the well to do, to come on board to help this orphanage home and several other homes and see what they can do to better their lots.

“Most of the time, we pray to God for cars, promotion and protection from insurgents. These kind of prayers received rapid acceptance as we come to meet many of these less privileged people at the point of their needs.”

In his own address, former Vice Chancellor of the Bell University, Ota Ogun State, Professor Isaac Adeyemi said there is the urgent need to take care of the motherless, orphans and people with disability, saying the economy has worsen the state of things in Nigeria.

He praised and thanked the Care People Foundation for still being able to put smiles on the faces of the “neglected and unprotected children” despite the harsh economy.

He said whoever ensures that the less privileged people smile at this festive period would surely be rewarded by the Almighty God.

Speaking further on the carnival, Revd Tioluwani- Lesekese said the carnival is aimed at putting smiles upon the faces of people that are looked down on by many Nigerians, saying these people deserve the support of well-to-do Nigerians because according to him, even many without disability are finding it difficult to survive the hungers ravaging the land.

Tioluwani – Lesekese said though the government is doing its best to cushion the effects of the current hardship, the less privileged people deserve the support of all and sundry at this time.

“That is why our foundation has, despite the current economic challenge, provided wheelchairs, mattresses, foodstuffs, sewing machines and grinding machines to support the less privileged on yearly basis during the December festive periods.

Several wheelchairs, sewing machines, pepper grinding machines, and foodstuff were shared freely to the People with Disability, (PWDs), orphans, widows and motherless children from different homes within and outside Ibadan.
