Blossomflow Empowerment Foundation lauds Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her groundbreaking “Flow with Confidence” initiative, which will distribute 370,000 disposable sanitary pads to secondary school girls nationwide. This bold move marks a significant victory in the fight against period poverty and underscores the government’s commitment to girls’ health and education.

As a leading nonprofit dedicated to ending menstrual health challenges across Nigeria, Blossomflow sees this federal intervention as a milestone that aligns perfectly with its #BeHerPeace campaign. The initiative will see each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) receiving 10,000 cartons of sanitary pads, with distribution managed by the wives of state governors. The goal is clear: ensure that menstruation no longer hinders girls’ school attendance, confidence, or future prospects.

“This is more than a policy—it’s a validation of our efforts,” said Mrs. Joan Faluyi, Founder and CEO of Blossomflow. “Our organization has been at the forefront of distributing sanitary pads and advocating for menstrual health in schools and underserved communities. Seeing this initiative supported at the highest level is truly inspiring.”

The foundation has reached thousands of girls across Nigeria and continues to call for structured government action to eradicate period poverty.

Additionally, the First Lady’s announcement included environmental programs like establishing climate change clubs in secondary schools and universities—an innovative move that Blossomflow believes integrates environmental consciousness with health education for a holistic impact.

“This is a remarkable step forward,” Mrs. Faluyi added. “We are eager to partner, support, and ensure this initiative reaches every girl it’s meant to serve. Our mission remains steadfast: promoting dignity, education, and health for all Nigerian girls.”
