Osun State Police Command has paraded two suspects, AbdulWasiu Jato (47) and Kolawole Iwalaye (39) for receiving stolen cars.

A statement by the spokesperson of the Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, stated that a Toyota Muzzle Camry (2009 model) with registration number KUJ 619 DB, and a 2012 model Toyota Corolla with registration number KSF 407 HW, were recovered from the suspects.

Opalola explained that a complainant reported at the lice station on May 11, 2023, alleging that he was attacked by armed robbers who dispossessed him of his car at his residence.

He alleged that the gang took away his iPhone, jewelry, and two Toyota Camry cars of 2009 and 2010 models valued at N12,465,700.

The police spokesperson explained that the 2009 model of the car and another Toyota Corolla 2012 model which is also a stolen vehicle, were found in the possession of the suspects in which the chassis number had been re-written to read 4T1BEA6K09U804357, with registration number KUJ 619 DB registered with Abdulwasiu Jato’s name.

” Meanwhile, the original owner of the recovered Toyota Corolla is yet unknown.
Efforts are still ongoing to arrest the perpetrators and recover other stolen properties,” the police added.
