A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and National Coordinator of the Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje has advised President Bola Tinubu to reconnect with long-time supporters and political allies, warning that neglecting loyal associates could create unnecessary political challenges for the administration.
Alawuje gave the advice while expressing support for the President’s reform agenda and urging Nigerians to remain patient with ongoing efforts to reposition the country.
According to him, strengthening relationships with trusted allies is essential for political stability and the success of the administration.
“It is also time to reduce the number of former friends who have become distant by bringing them closer.
“Nothing meaningful can be achieved from a distance. I have consistently warned against discarding old supporters in pursuit of new ones.
Loyalty, inclusion, and engagement remain essential ingredients of political success.”
The APC chieftain cautioned that supporters who feel abandoned could eventually align with political opponents.
“Everyone who genuinely loves Mr. President and believes in his vision should be valued and carried along,” he said. “Our known friends can become dangerous opponents if we neglect them and allow them to drift into the camps of our adversaries.”
Alawuje maintained that President Tinubu deserves continued support as he confronts the country’s longstanding challenges and implements reforms aimed at improving the nation’s fortunes

“Nigerians have become like dried trees, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is striving to bend us back in the right direction,” he said. “No matter the cries, complaints, and noise that accompany the process, we must endure it if we truly desire a better future for our nation.”
He argued that the current administration is tackling entrenched interests and difficult national problems that have accumulated over several decades.
“President Tinubu is not wicked. He is confronting entrenched interests and long-standing problems that have held our nation back for many years,” Alawuje stated.
The political figure also warned Nigerians against making decisions that could undermine national stability ahead of future elections.
“As we approach 2027, Nigerians must be careful not to hand over the destiny of this country to beneficiaries of insecurity, banditry, and those who know all the secrets of darkness, regardless of how they attempt to present themselves as alternatives,” he said.
He urged security agencies to remain professional and committed to the protection of the country and its citizens.
“Our security agencies must remain sincere, professional, and loyal not only to Mr. President but also to the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said. “Their responsibility is to protect the nation and safeguard the interests of all citizens.”
Alawuje called on Nigerians to unite behind genuine reforms and work collectively toward national development.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us. Let us unite, support genuine reforms, defend democracy, strengthen our institutions, and work together to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation,” he said.
