The seeds are being separated from whiffs at the ongoing Zenith Women’s basketball league in ABUJA
Although relatively new comers, Ekiti, Oluyole and Coal City Queens were gradually making impacts in the league with victories recorded yesterday, this may not be enough to keep them in the division.
The other teams that might not survive relegation are Taraba Hurricanes, Zamfara Babes and Plateau Rocks.
In some matches decided yesterday, Plateau Rocks recorded their first victory by beating Taraba 67-20 points, Delta Force outpointed Zamfara by 50-24, while Oluyole also defeated Ekiti by 48-27points.
Six teams would be dropped at the end of the second phase of the competition next month.
In the top of the bill match played yesterday, First Bank were leading Adolescent Health and Information Projects (AHIP) Queens 79-21 as at press time.
It would be Nasarawa against 1st Deep Water on Friday, FCT and Coal City, GT2000 facing IGP Queens, Plateau meeting AHIP, Delta confront Sunshine and Ekiti battling Benue.
