The name of chess game played on social media, a few hours ago against the personalities of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and President Muhammadu Buhari, is 2023. And the mission was to clandestinely, deploy the tool of new media to tarnish the hard-earned reputations of the two key players in the nation’s polity; and afterwards, pitch both actors against one another, ahead of 2023.
The manipulators of this wild, wild lies from the cespit of 2023 against the personalities of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and President Muhammadu Buhari knew their game and hold same to heart. Little wonder the fabrication came in torrent. The magnitude of evil, plotted in that singular publication which was heavily sponsored by its backers to achieve a desired effect across the Nigerian political airspace was only discernible to the intelligent.
But the gods are wiser. They have long foreseen that evil days such as this, when carriers and purveyors of falsified, mendacious, treacherous and concocted messages from the cespit of hell, aimed at pooling down the roof on the harmless chief Executive of Enugu State government, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will come.
And having emptied its vessels and antics against the Governor in their last desperate moves with its attendant backlashes and refutations from well-wishers and admirers of the chief servant leader of Enugu state across social media, it has become crystal clear to the propagandists and political chicanery that “the harder they come, the harder they shall fall.”
Reason: Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s brand is difficult to find on the surface of Earth. Like this reader already knows and can attest even at the slightest opportunity: the Governor is known for his peaceful and Cordial nature. Verifiably, he is at Peace with every political leader in the country irrespective of colorations. Gov. Ugwuanyi has no single time to fight or instigate animosity between him and anybody. Not the Ugwuanyi I know and serve. He is principally occupied with the thoughts of delivering the best he can afford to the good people of the state. And it is instructive to say at this juncture that he has maximum respect for the president of Nigeria and would by no means seek to impugn same for whatever reason.
Nigerians across divides, across religion and across ideologies can attest to the nature of the enigma we have in Enugu state as Governor. Chief Femi Fani Kayode, Nigeria’s former Aviation minster’s recent clarification of who the Governor truly is, remains a good testament and validation of my opinion overleaf. Howbeit, for the records, you may read Kayode’s words below.
“I just spoke with my friend and brother, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state and I can confirm that the statement that was attributed to him on social media this morning which is making the rounds is FAKE. He did not have any conversation with Presidency officials on the phone and neither was he ever kept waiting.
“He has a cordial relationship with President Buhari and he has never been treated with contempt or disrespect by the President or his aides.
“I cannot fathom what anyone would gain from fabricating and formulating this hideous and monstrous mendacity. Ugwuanyi is one of the few Governors and leaders that we have in this country today that is a profoundly good man. It is a pity that anyone would seek to treat him like this and demean him in or misrepresent him in this way.
“If we are not careful fake news will kill us all in this country. Those behind this disinformation and these lies are simply despicable.”
