Troops of Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued nine kidnapped victims and recovered 108 livestock during sustained military operations against suspected bandits in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The operations, conducted in Danko, Sabon Tunga and Binoni communities, followed renewed military efforts to dislodge armed groups responsible for kidnapping, cattle rustling and other criminal activities in the area.

The acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Osoba Olaniyi, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him, troops of Sector 2 responded to a distress call that suspected bandits had invaded the Danko general area, abducted residents and rustled livestock.

The Army spokesman further disclosed that troops conducted a follow-up operation in Sabon Tunga and Binoni villages, where seven additional kidnapped victims were rescued following sustained military pressure on criminal elements operating in the area.

According to him, the victims, who had reportedly spent several months in captivity, escaped from their abductors amid intensified military operations.
