Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has been handed jersey number 35 at his new club, Watford ahead the 2022-2023 EFL Championship campaign kick off at the weekend.

Watford starts the new season campaign on Monday night and Okoye, a new arrival from Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam has picked 35 as his first number at Vicarage Road.

The three other Nigerians in the team defender William Troost-Ekong, attackers Emmanuel Dennis and Samuel Kalu have retained the numbers they had last term. Another eligible Super Eagles player, Tom Dele-Bashiru also retained his old jersey number 24 as well as Dapo Mebude who will wear shirt number 37.
