Suspected thugs reportedly blocked a major road in Benue on Tuesday morning, preventing Peter Obi’s convoy from further entering the state.
The development was revealed by Obi’s media aide, Esther Umoh, who upladed videos on X showing the blocked road and those involved.
Umoh disclosed that the incident occurred shortly after Obi and his entourage arrived in Benue State.
“We have just arrived in Benue State, where alleged sponsored thugs have blocked Boko Road by the Air Force Base, attempting to prevent Peter Obi from gaining access into the state,” the social media post reads.
In a second post, Umoh shared videos of the incident with the caption, “This is madness.”
The videos have gone viral, with varying reactions from netizens on X.
As of the time of filing this report, Obi’s team has not issued a statement on the development.
