The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed September 19, 2026, for the conduct of five by-elections across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Tunde Oketola, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to Oketola, the elections will comprise one federal constituency and four state constituencies, covering different parts of the four states.
The federal constituency election will hold in Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State.
Other News
The four state constituencies are Disina and Sakwa in Bauchi State, Udu in Delta State, and Dawakin Kudu in Kano State.
INEC’s announcement sets September 19 as the date for voters in the affected constituencies to elect representatives to fill the vacant seats.
The commission’s decision comes as preparations intensify for the by-elections, which will determine new representatives for the affected federal and state constituencies.
