The newly emerged political leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ukwa-East Local Government Area of Abia State, Chuks Wabara, has pledged unwavering loyalty and support to the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark and Abia State Chairman, Don Norman.

Wabara made the pledge in a statement yesterday, shortly after his emergence as ADC leader in the council area.

He described his new position as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility, expressing appreciation to party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in him.

The former chairman of Ukwa-East Local Government Council reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party’s structure at the grassroots and expanding its influence in the area.

“As political leader, my commitment is total. I will work with all stakeholders to deepen our presence in Ukwa-East and ensure that the ADC remains the preferred platform for credible leadership and sustainable development,” he stated.

He commended Senator Mark for what he described as his visionary and stabilising leadership, noting that the former Senate President had continued to reposition the ADC as a credible platform for progressive and people-oriented politics in Nigeria.

He also praised the Abia State chairman of the party, Don-Norman, for his efforts in strengthening the party structures and fostering unity among members across the state.

The ADC leader called on residents of Ukwa-East and Abia State to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, Ukwa-East, despite being one of the most populated and strategic local government areas in Abia State, remains underrepresented in Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration due to voter apathy.

“It is time to change the narrative. Political relevance begins with voter registration. Our vote is our power,” he said.

He urged all eligible citizens to register, update their voter details and collect their PVCs in order to strengthen the political voice and bargaining power of the Ukwa people.

He expressed confidence that with unity, renewed grassroots mobilisation and increased civic participation, Ukwa-East would occupy its rightful position in the political landscape of Abia State.

The ADC leader assured party members of his resolve to serve with loyalty, integrity and dedication to the ideals and principles of the party.
