From George Onyejiuwa, Owerri
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has assured of his government’s readiness to allocate more lands to the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach for developmental projects.
Uzodimma gave the assurance, yesterday, while commissioning the Zion Seraphic Orphanage and Old People’s Home built by the Zion Ministry at Mgbirichi Community in Ohaji /Egbema Local Council Area of the state, yesterday. He extolled the Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, Evang. Ebuka Obi, for thinking home.
The governor noted that Obi’s decision to establish the ministry in Imo has further placed the state on the global map, a development he foresaw before allocating land for the ministry.
The governor promised that his administration would continue to provide security, logistics and necessary assistance for the success of the ministry in the state.
“What we have seen in Lagos is going to be a child’s play to what we will see in Imo. It’s not only about adoration, building factories and building schools , including nursery, primary, secondary and university. If you want more lands for development, just ask, and we will give you,” the governor submitted.
In his speech, Evang Obi stated that the aim of the project was to care for the aged and orphans who have been abandoned by their families.
“The aim of this project is to cater for the elderly people who are often mistreated by their own people. Sometimes, these elderly people are even accused as witches and wizards. Let them come here, and we take care of them, both medically and physically, free of charge. So, bring them, even the orphans. Don’t throw away the babies, just bring them here and we will take care of them because they deserve to live.”
Obi said the project would be replicated in other states in the South East zone. He commended the governor for his assistance to the ministry and improvement of the security situation in the state.
