Few clubs in the Edo State Cricket League have played their 8th matches over the weekend as the University of Benin Cricket Club, (UniBen CC) enjoys the summit of the table after its 7th match with a clean sheet.
UniBen CC, adorned with top batters like Eghosa Destiny, Destiny Chilemanya, and Miracle Akhigbe defeated Ambrose Ali University CC by 150 runs.
UniBen batted first scoring a whopping 210 runs and a loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. AAU CC chased but made 60 runs and lost all wickets at 15.1 overs. Miracle Akhigbe of UniBen won the Player of the Match award for contributing 88 runs.
UniBen CC who tops with 17 points from 7 matches closely contested the Edo league title.
No Limits CC follows the team with 15 points from 8 matches while the third team on the log is Invictus CC with 14 points from 7 matches. Nine teams have been battling for cricket glory since November 2024.
