The recently recognised clan head of Ukpum Ete clan in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Etebom Nsikan EtukUdom, is to be coronated on Ukpum Ete Day, December 26.
A statement by the chairman of the coronation planning committee, Dr. Akpan Micah Umoh, said the event would also witness the conferment of chieftaincy titles on distinguished Senator Ekong Sampson, who currently represents the Eket senatorial district.
Other awardees include Uduak Odudoh, member representing Ikot Abasi federal district (Ikot Abasi, Mkpatenin, and Eastern Obolo) in the House of Representatives, and Dr. Umoh, a former member of the House of Representatives, among others.
The statement said the event would be held at the premises of Methodist Central School, Ete town, noting that dignitaries from across the country would also attend the ceremony.
It added that various socio-cultural organisations that will showcase the rich culture of Ukpum Ete would be on display at the event.
EtukUdom ascended the throne as clan head of Ukpum Ete, following the demise of the former clan head, Clement Idemudo.
The new clan head was given the certificate of recognition by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umoh Eno, during the Akwa Ibom Day celebration on September 23, 2024.
