TTON unveils book on national issues

An online policy analysis and advocacy platform, the Think Tank on Nigeria (TTON) has unveiled a book, Conversations, a compendium on national issues by experts in different fields.

The 85-page compendium on various national issues focused on issues such as youth engagement, entertainment, sports, industrialization, funding Nigerian economy, informal sector, mining sector, future elections, drug abuse, issues on development, corruption and mental health were presented to the public.

At the public presentation of the book held at Prof. Rahman Bello Auditorium, University of Lagos, Akoka, many members of TTON in various fields graced the occasion and explained rationale for the publication of the book.

The Convener of TTON, Engr. Dideolu Falobi said with over 300 members drawn from various professions, discussed and analysed Nigerian policies and politics with the aim of finding solutions to developmental challenges facing the country.

According to him, insightful contributions are made by experts in different fields, which could be converted to actions if adopted, in order to bring needed positive changes.

Falobi disclosed that the book is meant to add to the body of knowledge within each of the ten sectors covered by volume 1.

He said the publication is TTON contributions to the assurance of a better Nigeria and revealed that Volume 11 would soon be published.

According to him, TTON was designed to take advantage of the numerous ideas generated on various Whatsapp platforms, adding, “it was designed to bring together Nigerians to engage them on issues of extreme importance and relevance to the polity in a conducive and civil atmosphere.”

He promised that the communiqués would be forwarded to government officials at federal, state and local government levels.

Falobi said the communiqué also focused on education with particular emphasis on youth engagement and described them as the engine room of a country.

He advised government at different levels to take advantage of the potentials of the youth for productive engagement.

“We are open to the government and private sector for consultant in many areas. TTON has experts in different fields that can proffer solutions to our numerous problems. The government needs to tap from experts to come out with good policies,” he stated.
