US President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Iran, urging Tehran to quickly accept Washington’s demands on its nuclear programme amid escalating tensions between the two countries.
“Iran can’t get their act together… They better get smart soon,” Trump said in a post on social media, signalling growing impatience with stalled negotiations.
The warning comes as the United States intensifies economic pressure on Iran, including a naval blockade targeting Iranian ports. Reports indicate the Trump administration is considering maintaining the blockade until Tehran agrees to dismantle key aspects of its nuclear programme.
Iran has proposed a framework that would ease tensions in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, where disruptions have rattled global energy markets. The proposal reportedly includes a partial reopening of the waterway in exchange for the lifting of US retaliatory measures while broader negotiations continue.

However, Tehran has rejected what it describes as excessive American demands. Iranian officials insist the country will not bow to pressure, with defence spokesperson Reza Talaei-Nik stating that Washington is no longer in a position to dictate terms to sovereign nations.
