From Mohammed Abubakar, Dutse
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kano State, Alhaji Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, has said President Bola Tinubu remains the candidate to beat in the 2027 presidential election, adding that northern support for him is firm.
Kwankwaso, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, spoke to journalists in Dutse, Jigawa State, on Tuesday. He said there was neither panic nor retreat among Tinubu’s supporters in the North.
He said the region’s growing confidence rests on the administration’s policies and what he described as measurable achievements. He dismissed opposition criticism as political manoeuvring and misinformation ahead of 2027.
He said northern voters are increasingly concerned with economic recovery, security, infrastructure, employment and national stability. He urged supporters to take the administration’s message to communities and strengthen party structures.
Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the coalitions backing Tinubu would stay united. He described 2027 as a chance to give the President more time to consolidate his policies and programmes.
