Some persons suspected to thugs have broken into the headquarters of the Nigerian Football Federation in Abuja on Friday.

Staff of the NFF were taken aback when the thugs stormed the secretariat in several cars, vowing to take over the leadership of the football body.

Their attempt to gain access to the offices, which were locked, was resisted by the staff.

Christian Emeruwa, NFF’s national security officer, and Tunde Aderibigbe, NFF’s coordinator on political matters and Ademola Olajire, the federation’s head of communications, were allegedly assaulted in the melee that ensued.

The incident comes 24 hours after the sports committee of the house of representatives claimed to have brokered peace after meeting with Amaju Pinnick and Giwa.

It took the intervention of policemen to restore normalcy to the Glass House.
