The Creative Director of Pitch Perfect Africa Kids, Ice Nweke, has urged parents and schools to create platforms that would boost greater talents in children.
Nweke, who is involved in training teenagers and discovering their talents at an early stage, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
According to him, parents should not only concentrate on the academics of their children but should also diversify into special talents they possess, of which could boost their personality and future endeavours.
“The modern world that we are in today fares better with what you can do for yourself to earn a living rather than depending on white collar jobs”.
According to him, the Pitch Perfect Africa Kids team creates a platform for the young generation and talented youths across the country to compete, and to discover young talents and what they do best.
He further noted that, though there were many activities and talented children and youths around, there were just a few that create opportunities and talent hunts for young children.
“There are few competitions that focus their attention on children; most are focused on adults, whereby the organisers can quickly get value for their investment.
“But we have discovered that children have not not been focused upon. There are no major talent shows or competitions for their level which gave rise to our show.
“Eko Hotels has been working tirelessly since 2019 to focus on children performing before an audience and bringing families together to watch the kids perform.
“We create greater opportunities for them to display their artistic talents, a platform for them to showcase their talents and bring out the creativity in them through music, drama and dance,” he said.
The creative director said that the show brought children from different places, classes, groups to compete in their creative abilities in dance, drama, voice and costumes.
He also said that most of the previous winners were picked by national and international teams or groups to a higher level and given better opportunities to showcase their talents.
“One of the winners is currently in America studying music. One has travelled to join a church choir abroad;
most of the winners get connections for the kids, engaging and monitoring their growth
“Five wonderful groups have emerged for the 2023 edition finals in December. They include the All Saints Choir, Ijegun; Evolution Children Choir, Holy Child Choir, Madonna International School and House on the Rock.
“The winner will be going home with an attractive sum of a minimum of N2 million and other consolation gifts from our sponsors, ” he said.
He added that their focus was on discovering good and young voices, creativity in costumes, presentation and rendition.(NAN)
