Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi ranks fifth for the most chances created from open-play in the English Premier League since the 2022/23 season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Iwobi has been a consistent Premier League campaigner since 2015 when he broke into the first team at Arsenal.

But over the last four seasons, he has become one of the best players in the league.

Iwobi caught fire under Frank Lampard at Everton in 2022. The Nigerian midfielder played a big role in helping them avoid relegation.

Then, just over a year later, he joined Fulham and quickly earned a regular starting shirt under coach Marco Silva.

Over the last two seasons at Craven Cottage, Iwobi has contributed 14 goals and 8 assists in 68 appearances.

In fact, last season, he reached his personal best, as he contributed nine goals and six assists in 38 games for the Cottagers.

Iwobi has gained the reputation of being an effective and hardworking player, but his quality has often been overlooked, especially as he does not stack up big numbers like the other big boys.

But new statistics that show just how good Iwobi has emerged. According to Squawka, Iwobi has created 171 chances from open play in the Premier League since the 2022/23 season.

He is tied with Bukayo Saka and has more than Dejan Kulusevski (167), Morgan Gibbs-White (155), Bruno Guimaraes (154), Kevin De Bruyne (153), and Son Heung-Min (150), who are all in the top ten.

The only players who are better than Iwobo are Martin Odegaard, Mohamed Salah, and Bruno Fernandes.
