The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has conferred Honorary Fellowship on the Chairman of Keystone Bank Limited, Lady Adaora Ogochukwu Chukwudozie, in recognition of her contributions to banking, manufacturing and enterprise development.

The honour was bestowed on her at the institute’s 2026 Fellowship Investiture held on October 31 at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Chukwudozie expressed gratitude to the institute for the recognition and pledged to remain committed to service.

She said the honour had strengthened her determination to contribute to institutional development through her leadership roles in banking, manufacturing and business.

The investiture, themed, “Bank Recapitalisation: Leveraging New Bank Capital for Nigeria’s Industrial Transformation,” brought together stakeholders from the banking, business and government sectors to discuss how stronger banks could support industrial growth and economic development.

Speaking at the event, CIBN President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Dele Alabi, urged banks to deploy their stronger capital base to provide more financing for productive businesses, particularly micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stressed the need for affordable, long-term financing to support industrial expansion and business growth, while emphasising sound governance and responsible lending.

In his keynote address, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, called for increased financing of manufacturing and other productive sectors.

He also stressed the need for stronger collaboration among banks, government and regulators to address challenges limiting investment in the industrial sector.

Chukwudozie, who is also Group Managing Director of Dozzy Group and Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, South-East Branch, brings experience across banking, manufacturing and enterprise development.

Other recipients of honours at the ceremony included Chairman of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, Segun Ogunsanya; Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Olubunmi Kuku; Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited, Chief Folorunsho Alakija; Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ibrahim Stevens; Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi; and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Samuel Egube.

The recognition comes as Keystone Bank continues efforts to strengthen its operations, with the bank reporting improvements in its liquidity position, deposit base and customer numbers.

It has also strengthened its corporate governance, risk management and internal controls, while investing in technology to improve digital banking services and customer experience.

The bank said the progress reflected the collective efforts of its board, management and staff, as well as the continued confidence of its customers.

Chukwudozie’s recognition further highlights the importance of leadership and stronger financial institutions in supporting businesses, industrial development and economic growth.
