Vice President Kashim Shettima will preside over the National Economic Council (NEC) conference starting Monday, spearheading efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s economic coordination and accelerate inclusive growth across all 36 states.
The Vice President, who chairs the NEC, will guide discussions on fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation and collaborative strategies between federal and state governments.
In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, President Bola Tinubu will grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour, joined by top government officials, development partners, and private-sector leaders as the administration deepens its reform drive.

Governors from the 36 states, alongside key national stakeholders, will converge at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja for the two-day event on February 9 and 10. Convened by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, the conference adopts the theme: “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”
The gathering is poised to chart far-reaching policy directions, enabling states to align with the Federal Government’s long-term economic blueprint under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Secretary of the NEC, Deborah Odo, the conference will tackle pressing macroeconomic priorities.
“The conference will focus on national economic issues aimed at encouraging economic growth and development across the country,” she said.
