@ Commend Nigerian workers for their sacrifice

The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial district Alhaji Mohammed Sani Musa has described as a welcome development the 35 percent increase in the salaries of civil servants in the country saying that the increment was long overdue in view of the present economic reality.
The Senator a message to commemorate the 2024 May Day Celebration commonly referred to as Workers Day, and personally signed by himself, said Nigerian workers have made uncommon sacrifices in the face of the current economic challenges and therefore deserved the 35 percent salary increase.
Sani Musa who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance commended the President for hearing the cries of the Nigerian workers, pointing out that the salary adjustment couldn’t have come at a better time than now when the purchasing power of the workers is nothing to write home about.
The however urged Nigerian workers to continue be patient with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that “the president is taking tougher decisions for the benefit of every Nigerian”.
He acknowledged that, this year’s workers day celebration is coming at a period when things are tough for majority of Nigerians especially the average workers whose monthly could no longer meet the economic reality.
According to him, “the high cost of food items, increased in electricity tariff, and expensive petroleum products among many others have put Nigerians in a very difficult situation and surviving at all cost”.
Senator Sani Musa nonetheless assured Nigerian Workers that the 10th Senate under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio will continue to take necessary actions that will put smiles on their and Nigerian populace at large.
He equally assured Nigerian workers that the National Assembly, especially the 10th Senate will give the President every support needed to ensure timely implementation of the new salary increment in other to reduce the current hardship.
