Patron, Ndi Na Asu Bia Socio-Cultural Organisation (NNABSCO), Chief Cosmas Chikeobi Agada, has called on South East legislators at the National Assembly to work towards the realisation of the Anioma State.

Chikeobi Agada made the call in Asaba, following a successful solidarity rally, held in support of the Anioma State creation and its zoning to the South East geo-political zone.

He, however, commended Ohaneze Ndigbo for endorsing the Anioma State creating bill, saying, “We are pleading with South East legislators to see reasons to work for the success of the proposed Anioma State Creation bill.

The coalition of Anioma People, comprising the nine LGAs in the Delta North Senatorial District, had, a week ago, embarked on solidarity rally, wherein the youths, men, and women, in collaboration with the Igbanke and other Anioma, Ika-speaking people in Edo State, endorsed the Anioma State creation and it’s zoning to the South East.

They called on President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to use their good offices to ensure the success of the bill.

Chikeobi Agada, in an interview with newsmen, described Anioma State creation as a pathway to reclaiming all lost Igbo territories.

The South-easterner, on the success recorded so far, said that inasmuch as there are some disappointments here and there, on the average, the process is still on cause.

He stated, “The Ohaneze Ndigbo have endorsed Anioma State, I give them kudos, and we are very grateful to them. We are pleading with South East legislators, to see reasons to work for the success of the proposed Anioma State Creation bill.

“Everybody should forget about personal interest and look at the overall interest of the Igbo people and create Anioma State, as a first step towards bringing back our people who are marooned to other zones.

“We are appealing to the South East legislators because, at the moment, the bill is at the caucus stage, where considerations and votes of the lawmakers matter a lot on which, among the proposed states before the National Assembly, should be approved.

“We know that the governors have influence over their states and the legislators; that is when the bill comes to the concurrence, but, for now, it is in the hands of the South East legislators to see to the success of this great bill.
