Rwanda Coach faults officiating in defeat to Nigeria

Nigeria-vs-rwanda-Adel-Amrouche

Rwanda’s head coach, Adel Amrouche, has attributed his team’s narrow loss to the Super Eagles of Nigeria to poor officiating, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Amavubi suffered a 1-0 defeat in Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday seven clash at the Goodwill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Nigeria secured victory courtesy of substitute Tolu Arokodare, who struck the decisive goal 15 minutes from time his second in national team colours.

Speaking after the match, Amrouche expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing.

“I don’t want to speak much about officiating because of past events. I don’t want to be banned again,” he said.

“Both teams fought hard, but the officiating was not the best.” Rwanda will now focus on their next qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
