From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

Another crisis is brewing in the Imo State House of Assembly, over alleged plot to impeach the Speaker, Chike Olemgbe.

The plot allegedly hatched by four members of the House, according to a source from the State Assembly, led to their suspension yesterday. The lawmakers included Ahiazu-Mbaise, Samuel Otuibe; Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Henry Agbasonu; Okigwe, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa, and Oru-West, Dominic Ezerioha.

The decision to suspend them, according to the Speaker was taken at the executive session of the House. He also announced that all standing committees belonging to the suspended members have been retrieved from them.

It was also gathered that during the plenary, the Speaker made minor reshuffling on the standing committees.

Some of the suspended members present during the announcement have declined to comment on the matter, but one of them, Ezerioha, representing Oru West, told our correspondent when contacted that he was yet to know why he was suspended, even as he denied being part of those hatching the plot to impeach the Speaker.
