The Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa Central will have the official investiture of its President and Board of Directors on Saturday, July 30 at the Lagos Airport Hotel by 11 am.

In a year in which women in Rotary are breaking the glass ceiling, the club will be installing its first female President, Mrs Adebukunola Soile-Balogun. This Rotary year (July 1, 2022 to July 30, 2023), Rotary International produced Jennifer Jones as resident while Omotunde Lawson is the Governor of Rotary International District 9110, covering all clubs in Lagos and Ogun States.

The club Directors who will be unveiled include the President-elect, Olayinka Patunola-Ajayi; the Vice President, who is also Public Image Chair, Muyiwa Akintunde; Secretary, Vincent Isaac; Treasurer, Remilekun Bada and Club Administrator, Tolulope Ajimotokan.

Others include membership chair, Adeyemi Oguntirin; Rotary Foundation Chair, Ayoku Banjoko Safatmaruwa; Service Project Chair, Busayo Akomolafe; Youth Service Chair, Abiodun Sonuga; History and Archives Chair, Charity Uzochi; immediate past president, Deji Shonuga and Sergeant-at-Arms, Omoja Abimaje.

The event will be presided over by Mr Bamidele Samuel Ajibare (well known as Bigsam), OmegaPro Management Executive. In March, Ajibare and his wife, Gift achieved the Black Diamond feat with Omegapro in what was described as a “record breaking feat”.

Oba Abdulrazaq Adesina Adenugba, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State is the royal father of the day, while past assistant governor, Wale Adegbite is guest speaker.

Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa Central was chartered by Rotary International on 23rd March 2021 with Shonuga as charter resident. The Investiture ceremony will serve as a fund-raiser enabling the club to generate the fund to execute more projects in addition to what it did in its foundation year.
