The Delta central senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Ede Dafinone, has solicited the prayers and support of the 24 Urhobo kings in the district.
At a consultative meeting with the royal fathers, Dafinone thanked them for giving him the opportunity to present himself and also seek their blessings to represent the zone at the National Assembly from 2023.
Dafinone said his vision is to ensure that the people are fully represented and provided with dividends of democracy.
“I believe I am the right person with the right vision, experience and skill that will bring about the prosperity we deserve.
“I humbly ask for your support, prayers and votes in my quest to serve you as the senator for Delta central senatorial district come 2023,” he said.

Receiving the candidate, the traditional rulers charged him to emulate his late father, Sen. David Dafinone, if he wins the election.
The monarchs said the late Senator represented the district at the senate very well during his time at the Senate.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Ukori I, Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, Mike Omeru, applauded the late Senator David Dafinone, for placing the Urhobo nation on the world map.
He described the candidate, Ede, as one who has not deviated from the course of his father.
“We have seen your antecedents and manifesto as one with the capacity to perform and it is our wish that God grant your heart desire, so you can fulfil all you intend to do for Urhobo nation in your manifesto,” he stated.
