RIVERS State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Felix Obuah, has petitioned the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), over moves allegedly being made to reverse the cancellation of the March 19 legislative re-run election in Tai Local Government Area of the state.

Obuah, in the petition signed by him and addressed to INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of desperation and putting pressure on the commission to announce result of election it earlier cancelled.

He reminded INEC chairman of an earlier petition by a concerned Rivers indigene to the House of Representatives to the effect that no election took place in Tai council on March 19.

Obuah also reminded Yakubu, of how the commission re-stated before the National Assembly that election would be rescheduled in Tai, a position he (Yakubu) also publicly acknowledged at a stakeholders’ meeting at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.
