The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu has urged the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream I corps members deployed to Kebbi State to respect the culture, norms, and traditions of their host communities.
Nafiu stated this while address Corps members during his working visit to the NYSC ,Permanent Orientation Camp in DakinGari, Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Nafiu congratulated the Corps Members on the successful completion of their academic programs which qualified them for national service.
He welcomed them into the NYSC family, expressing delight at their enthusiasm and spirit.
“I am glad to see you happy at this moment, which reflects the positive images I’ve been seeing about you daily,” he said.
The Director-General encouraged the Corps Members to fully engage in all camp activities, with particular emphasis on the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
He reiterated the NYSC’s commitment to equipping Nigerian youth to become wealth and job creators ,advised them to use social media responsibly and remained security-conscious within and outside the camp.
Nafiu also emphasized the importance of building responsible lives, encouraging them to start thinking about settling down and contributing positively to society.
The Director-General however donated cash to the Special Squad and presented two fat cows for the general welfare of all Corps Members.
During the visit, the NYSC inspected key camp facilities, including the hostels, kitchen, clinic, and other vital infrastructure.
Earlier, the Kebbi State NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Bala Dabo Kagarko, who received the Director-General and his entourage, disclosed that a total number of 1,165 Corps Members have duly registered at the close of registration, comprising 667 males and 498 females.
