Captain Anthony Onoharigho, the Ohwo Ri Si of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom and Life Patron of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide, has urged the President General of the UPU Worldwide, Chief Barr. Ese Gam and the other members of the national executive, to remain committed to advancing the collective interests of the ethnic nationality.
He gave the charge when he hosted them at his residence in Oria, Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
During the visit, they held cordial interactions and discussions on the progress and unity of the Urhobo nation.
Speaking during the reception, Captain Anthony Onoharigho expressed profound appreciation to the President General and the UPU executives for honouring his invitation and taking time to visit him.
His words: “There is joy in my heart flowing like a river. I am deeply honoured by my appointment as the Life Patron of the Urhobo Progress Union Worldwide. This recognition is a call to greater service, and I remain fully committed to supporting every initiative that promotes the unity, peace, development, and cultural heritage of the Urhobo people.”
Onoharigho further assured the UPU leadership of his unwavering support for the organisation, pledging to continue contributing his resources, experience, and influence towards the growth and advancement of the Urhobo nation.
In his response, UPU President-General, Barr. Ese Gam, thanked Captain Anthony Onoharigho for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to the UPU executives.
Ese Gam commended him for his steadfast commitment, dedication, and numerous contributions to the development of the Urhobo ethnic nationality. He described him as a worthy ambassador of the Urhobo people whose selfless service continues to inspire others.
The UPU President General prayed for God’s continued blessings, protection, good health, and greater accomplishments for Chief Captain Anthony Onoharigho, while encouraging all Urhobo sons and daughters to remain united in pursuit of the progress and prosperity of the Urhobo nation.
