A man working with a private security outfit in Sokoto state, Mishabahu Auwal, has been arrested by police for conspiracy and theft in his boss office
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i said the arrest was prior to a complaint from one Ladan Muhammad of the National Broadcasting Commission.
It stated that complainer reported how unknown persons made away with three KVA inverters, three 600 KVA inverter batteries, a fridge compressor, a brand new tyre for the office bus, and a 32-inch LG television from his office at Gagi Area of of the state.
“Policemen led by the DCO rushed to the scene where Mishabahu Auwal, a security guard at the Office, was invited to the Police station.
“Upon Interrogation, he confessed to had conspired with one Ismaila Ahmad ‘M’ of Nakasare Area and made away with the said items
“Investigation was expanded One Yahuza Tukur and Abdulrahman Abbas all ‘Male’ of Nakasare Area Sokoto were arrested in counselling the Stolen Properties while one Basiru Lawali ‘M’ of kuffa Area, Murtala Tijani ‘M’ of Kwanni Area and Abubakar Umar M of Gangaren Kuffa Area Sokoto were arrested as their receivers and all Exhibits were recovered, Rufa’i said in a statement released to Journalists on Tuesday.
It further stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Musa, commended the Operatives and cooperation being enjoyed from the Public.
He however advised citizens to continue supporting the Police for effective service delivery, assuring that the suspects will be diligently prosecuted.
