The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested 41 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers and rescued seven victims in a series of operations carried out across the state in March and April.
The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, disclosed this on Monday during a press briefing, highlighting what he described as “significant successes” in the command’s ongoing fight against violent crime.
According to him, the operations, driven by intelligence gathering and coordinated enforcement strategies, also led to the recovery of 24 firearms, 200 rounds of live ammunition, and 50 rustled cows.
Mr. Muhammad attributed the achievements to the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Rilwan Disu, and the commitment of officers deployed across the state.
He detailed several high-profile arrests, including the apprehension of a suspected gunrunner in Kagarko Local Government Area, where 20 locally made Dane guns were recovered.
In a separate operation, two suspected kidnappers were arrested in Makarfi LGA, while multiple informants accused of supplying intelligence to bandits were also taken into custody in different parts of the state.
Police operatives also intercepted a cache of 200 rounds of ammunition concealed in a sack of guinea corn, leading to the arrest of two suspects allegedly transporting the consignment from Zamfara State.

In another operation, officers arrested a suspected drug dealer known as “Shanuna,” accused of terrorizing residents in parts of Rigasa, alongside several others linked to armed robbery, phone snatching, and gang-related crimes.
The police further reported dismantling kidnapping syndicates operating in Kubau, Lere, and Kauru local government areas, with multiple suspects confessing to involvement in abduction and cattle rustling.
Additionally, authorities recovered stolen livestock and arrested suspects involved in cattle rustling and motorcycle theft, including a network accused of targeting commercial motorcyclists.
CP Muhammad said all suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, while efforts continue to apprehend fleeing members of the criminal networks.
He expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for his support, as well as residents for providing useful information to security agencies.
“The Command will not relent in its efforts until all criminal elements are eliminated,” he said, urging the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement authorities.
The police reaffirmed commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents across Kaduna State.
