Photographer in court for allegedly defiling minor

A 37-year-old photographer, Godwin Iyang, who allegedly defiled his neighbour’s  5-year-old daughter was on Monday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The accused, who resides at Ewa Ekeng Street in Idimu, a Lagos suburb, is facing a charge of defilement.

The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 10 at his accused residence.

Ogu said the accused lured the girl to his and had canal knowledge of her.

“The victim’ s  mother sew her daughter coming out of the accused’s room with semen on her pant the matter was reported  to the police and the accused was arrested , “he said.

The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N250, 000 with one surety in like sum.

She said the surety should show evidence of tax payment to the Logs State Government.

Akanni adjourned the case until April 12 for mention. (NAN)
