Heartfelt tributes continue to pour in from all over the world, celebrating the life and humanitarian achievements of former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, who died last month.
According to the Carter Foundation, Jimmy Carter, the peanut farm operator who became the 39th president of the United States, died at his home in Plains, Georgia, on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was 100 years old.
In his tribute, former British and Commonwealth light heavyweight boxing champion, Peter Oboh, described Jimmy Carter as a true Christian who always put God first.
“I want to condole with the family of the former American President Jimmy Carter. In all history, he was a real Christian that always put God and Jesus Christ first. He was known for always speaking the truth, which is not common among many old and new generations of politicians,” he said.
The boxer turned-Apostle added: “Jimmy Carter fought against racism and discrimination against men and women of colour. Sometimes, I do think if Jimmy Carter were allowed to rule America one more time, maybe he would have brought lasting peace to the Middle East. He was simply the best, better than the rest. He was a real man of peace. I wish other leaders could emulate him by putting God first in all their dealings and lifestyles. Mr. Carter will surely be missed by all.”
Meanwhile, Jimmy Carter’s funeral has been scheduled for January 9, 2025 at the Washington National Cathedral, where President Joe Biden will give a eulogy.
