A political pressure group in Abia State, Movement for Good Governance (MGG), Bende Chapter, has backed the Abia State Chief Liaison Officer, Abuja, Chief Iheanyi Chinasa, in the face-off between Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu.

The Deputy Speaker had, last week, accused Otti of not doing enough in the development of the state with the allocation he receives from the Federal Government.

Kalu noted that the president had released significant funds to state governors, including Abia, to accelerate development, adding that Tinubu “wants every naira to count for the benefit of the people.”

In a swift reaction, Chinasa said it was not enough for Kalu to accuse Governor Otti of any wrongdoing, stating that the deputy speaker himself should also account for all the money that passed through his processes.

Chinasa added that Kalu should come clean and tell his constituents the cost of each of those projects to be able to know whether they tally with the amount of money allocated for them.

Following a backlash of Chinasa over his statement against the Deputy Speaker by a body, Abia APC Renaissance, MGG defended the Abia Liaison Officer in Abuja over his comment.

MGG, in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Apostle Kalu Kingsley, said it was unfortunate that some uniformed persons would be used to attack Chinasa who, it said, was telling truth to power.

It described the Abia APC Renaissance as a non-existent body that decided to churn out lies against Chinasa and, in the process, it deceives Abians.

“As a major testament to your lies, in your failed efforts to cast aspersions on the person of Chief Chinasa, you addressed him as Special Assistant to the Governor on multilateral and donor agencies, which is clearly a lie and you know it.

“How can Ndi Abia trust anything that is coming from this “nonexistent “APC Coalition?” the group queried.
