GOSPEL music artiste Oyinoluwa Omotayo, has said that her debut album, Agape Love, is a project that The songwriter and music enthusiast whose journey into ministry is deeply rooted in both family and faith stated in a chat with Sunday Sun.
The title track, Agape Love, captures the depth of God’s unconditional love. Inspired by Isaiah 49:15, Oyinoluwa describes the song as a reminder that God’s love never fails, never forgets, and never lets go.
“It’s His love that keeps me going, gives me strength, and pushes me to keep pressing forward every day,” she reflects. Her love for music runs in the family. Her father was a talented musician and lead guitarist who played in church and at social events, while her mother, a steadfast music lover, has always supported her passion. Surrounded by sisters who are gifted singers, Oyinoluwa grew up in an environment where music was both natural and nurturing.
Determined to build on this foundation, she learned to play the guitar from one of her pastors, who not only introduced her to music theory and sight-reading but also helped her grow spiritually. This balance of skill and faith has shaped her as an artist whose music is both soulful and purposeful.
Her influences span local and international gospel ministers. She grew up listening to Tope Alabi and now draws inspiration from Sunmisola
Agbebi’s spirit-filled worship, as well as Dunsin Oyekan and Nathaniel Bassey’s creativity and anointing. Globally, she admires the passion and artistry of Tasha Cobbs and Travis Greene, whose ministries resonate with her own journey.
Oyinoluwa insists that every song she writes is God-inspired. Her track My Yearnings, for instance, was birthed in a moment of divine connection. “When my heart is in tune with Him, the songs flow naturally,” she explains. Inspiration often comes during prayer, quiet meditation, or even while doing daily chores.
