The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdul’Aziz Yari, has assured Nigerians that the ruling party will honour all campaign promises made ahead of the 2027 general election.
Yari gave the assurance on Sunday after arriving at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu to lead the party’s presidential campaign council.
Speaking to journalists at the airport, the former Zamfara State governor said the APC would remain committed to delivering on its promises to Nigerians.
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we make during campaign, we shall keep to our promises,” Yari said.
He also expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027, saying the President had demonstrated his capacity to lead the country.
“Today, we have seen him as president and by God’s grace, he shall be the president come 2027,” he added.
Yari was welcomed by supporters and party members who gathered at the airport to mark his arrival and assumption of duties as the APC campaign council’s Director-General.
Addressing the gathering, he said their presence reflected their support for the President and the success of the administration.
“The crowd are here to pray for me and for the success of Mr. President. Our party is synonymous with keeping to our words,” he said.
He called for prayers for Tinubu, asking God to grant the President the wisdom required to govern the country.
Yari further expressed confidence that the APC would retain power beyond Tinubu’s second term.
“We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfil all our campaign promises. We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term,” he said.
The former governor’s appointment comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with Tinubu expected to seek a second term under the party’s platform.
